What is Dedicated Internet Access?
Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) – or leased lines – is a high-speed internet service designed for businesses of all sizes. You'll have a dedicated and unlimited internet connection that isn’t shared with anyone else, so you get all performance you pay for.
As a 100% fibre connection, you also benefit from the latest and most advanced technology for internet access. Instead of traditional copper-based or hybrid connections, you can expect very low latency and a whole range of speeds depending on your needs.
Leased lines are also compatible with a range of access technologies such as fibre ethernet, SOGEA, FTTP and cable.
Fast and reliable:
speeds of 10Gbps as standard or up to 100Gbps as non-standard, as well as 99.995% service availability.
Secure:
a leased line offers a private connection not shared with others, reducing the risk of data breaches, and it can be paired with Palo Alto Networks’ Next Generation Firewall or our Distributed Denial of Service Mitigation (Anti-DDoS) for added protection
Flexible to your needs
scalable, offering the perfect fit as your business expands and you require extra internet usage

DIA FAQs
Is there a difference between are Dedicated Internet Access and leased lines?
There is no difference between the two. A Dedicated Internet Access has several names and might also be referred to as a Leased Line, a Dedicated Leased Line or DIA (Direct Internet Access).
What are leased lines or Dedicated Internet Access?
Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) – or leased lines – provides a dedicated ethernet connection all the way into your building. You don’t share that connection with anyone, giving you guaranteed speed whatever you’re doing.
How do I choose which licence option to take?
Choosing a particular licence type can seem tricky, but we can set up a call with our leased line specialists who would be happy to have a call to understand your requirements and build a proposal to suit your needs.
What's the difference between a leased line and business broadband?
While a traditional business broadband connection is shared between multiple organisations, a leased line is dedicated to just one. And because it’s not shared it gives you a more consistent and reliable connectivity experience, even during peak times.
What are the advantages of Dedicated Internet Access?
Guaranteed internet speed, even during peak hours, giving you all the power you need to support new digital hybrid working tools. And the ability to upload just as fast as you download, empowering your staff to be more productive as they adapt to new ways of working. You can also get speeds of up to 10Gbps – faster than our top business broadband service.
How much does DIA cost at Virgin Media Business?
We offer a range of DIA packages which can be tailored for your business needs and requirements. Our packages start at £185 per month which provided 100Mbps upload and download speeds. Please contact us using the number provided or fill out the form below to get a quote today.
What is the difference between ADSL and a leased line?
ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) is a broadband connection more suited to residential users and small businesses. It has faster download speeds compared to upload speeds and uses existing phone lines, so it’s great for basic stuff like web browsing and streaming.
Leased lines, on the other hand, are more suited to larger businesses and organisations that need a more dependable internet connection. You get a dedicated line with upload speeds as fast as your download speeds, giving you stable connectivity at all times – ideal for data-intensive tasks like hosting servers or running video calls.
How do leased lines compare to FTTP?
FTTP (fiber to the premises) is a type of broadband connection where fiber optic cables run directly into your home or business. It gives you high-speed internet access and is generally faster than other types of broadband. Like most broadband services, however, you share your bandwidth with other users, which can impact performance during peak times.
While leased lines often use fiber-optic cables similar to FTTP, they differ in the way that you get your own dedicated connection. So you always get consistent speeds, regardless of external factors or peak usage times. They're designed primarily for business use, where connection stability and guaranteed speeds are crucial..
