Engage - GDPR, order and quote improvements
Providing you with a simplified user experience
First things first. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect on 25th May 2018, replacing the Data Protection Act 1998. This new regulation gives you more rights and control over how your data is collected, stored and used.
Virgin Media Business collects business data in order to communicate service affecting communications and from time to time, marketing messages in order to give you the latest information about our products and services. To find out more about how we collect and use this data, please read our Data Privacy Policy.
In other news, we’ve improved our Order Received email content as well as delivering clearer pricing results for Managed Internet Access. Here’s the detail of the changes……
Order Received Email: we’ve added more detailed information into this email, so that you have a complete summary of your order, including the install and rental cost, contract term together with the A and B end address details. We’ve included a ‘before’ and ‘after’ example, so that you can clearly see the difference.
We’ve also made the subject line of these emails clearer, making it easier for you to see it in your Inbox. If your order contains two sites (A/B end), then the subject line will be titled with the product name ordered together with the A and B end postcodes. If you’ve ordered services for multiple sites then the subject line will be titled with the product name and the order number.

Managed Internet Access multiple quotes– we know that this hasn’t been easy to do previously. Now that Engage displays site level pricing for Managed Internet Access services for multiple site quotes, it means you can get a full breakdown of the individual rental and installation prices for each site within your quote.
Site level pricing will be displayed on the final pricing page of the quote flow as well as within the quote details screen on retrieval of a saved quote.
