To check the device connection status, first log into the Super Hub management application and select the left-hand button ‘Wireless Network Settings’. The following section headings are displayed: Wireless On / Off. Security mode It is recommended that the WPA auto option is selected as this gives good security and is supported by the majority of connecting devices. Other options are available. SSID (Service Set Identifier) This is the name for your wireless network. You can leave it as the default, or you may prefer to change it to something more meaningful for your installation. This is ‘On’ by default. Selecting ‘Off’ will disable the wireless functionality. Passphrase You’ll find this on either on the side, or underneath of your Super Hub. Please take a few moments to change your passphrase from the default 8 character one that is shown on your router. We recommend that you create a strong passphrase, made of at least 12 characters with a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters, such as @, #, $. Channel The unit will automatically scan and set itself to the best available wireless channel. You can change this to use a channel you may wish to use. This can be of benefit where there are intermittent interruptions from other devices or appliances, such as microwaves or DECT phones in the surrounding area. Wireless Band Settings The radio buttons allow you to switch between 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz modes. 2.4GHz is the best setting for compatibility with older devices, 5.0GHz will give the best wireless performance but only where your wireless devices support this mode. |
