NHS WiFi: The Challenges and Opportunities in Delivering Connected Care
Modern healthcare provision brings with it many challenges. As healthcare organisations across the UK struggle to cope with budget restraints and funding cuts, so too must they consider the implications for a growing and ageing population. The challenge in recent years has been, and will continue to be, how organisations can improve the patient experience in a way that not only ensures high-quality service provision but also does so in a cost-effective way. And it’s no secret that digital technology provides the means for this. Already dramatically changing the way patient care is delivered, technology solutions can unlock a truly transformative and innovative healthcare system, enabling numerous benefits not just for patients but for staff members too.
With this in mind, we recently partnered with iGov Survey to create a report that provides in-depth insights from over 100 different healthcare organisations – highlighting their readiness to embrace WiFi services against a backdrop of budget restraints and funding cuts.
Our findings showed that more than half of healthcare organisations have started embracing NHS WiFi, with 27% of those surveyed accessing funding through NHS Digital. Yet despite the increase in the number of hospitals using WiFi, there are still many healthcare organisations struggling to overcome the obstacles that prevent them from providing high-quality WiFi services.
In partnership with iGov Survey, we conducted research into the readiness of organisations to address the Digital Health Agenda. The findings of our Report were based on responses from a wide range of healthcare organisations across the public sector.
